Cwm Dog Retreat is a new dog home-boarding establishment.  It is built on the success of a dog walking, training and pet sitting business, Cwm Dog Walkers, established in July 2012.  The retreat sits in the foothills of the Black Mountains, in the quiet rural village of Cwmllynfell.  Just outside the Brecon Beacons National Park, the retreat is surrounded by fantastic walks for your dog.

It is run by dedicated and experienced dog trainers and animal lovers, Lisa and Paul, who have a wealth of experience with a variety of animal species.  Paul has worked voluntarily at a number of animal sanctuaries, including Cefn-Yr-Erw, Coelbren; The Monkey Sanctuary in Looe, Cornwall; and Penscynor Wildlife Park back in the late 80s.  Lisa has been a dog trainer for a number of years for Dog Behaviour Ltd.  She graduated from a foundation degree in Animal Science, where she obtained a distinction grade.  This qualification includes modules in animal nursing, first aid, behaviour, welfare, nutrition and more. She also received a highly commended Lantra Learner of the Year Award in 2013.  Lisa recently completed a BSc (Hons) in Animal Behaviour and Welfare, graduating with first class honours.  She is currently studying for a doctorate in professional practice, where she is researching behavioural modification techniques for problem dogs.
